Several of us who participated in the 2016 West Fest can vouch for these guys based on their Saturday night performance (video clip here). They teach at the New England Conservatory and Berklee College of Music.

See the bio below posted by Battle Road Brew House in Maynard, MA, where they performed on July 1. Note that Brooke Sofferman grew up in Colchester, VT, and is also an accomplished whitewater paddler (open boat and kayak). Follow the link below to his Facebook page.

Organist Andy Carballeira and drummer/singer Brooke Sofferman form Lean 2, which relies on the audience to help determine the style, tempo, sonority, and ambiance of the performance. They take suggestions from the audience, sometimes very specific, other times more general, to help improvise a musical story.

With a love for jazz, funk, blues, Motown, Reggae, rock and other styles, Andy and Brooke have travelled all over New England and New York. When listening with your eyes closed, you can hardly believe it's only two people performing, as it sounds like a band of 4 or 5!
