American Canoe Association Level 3/4 Instructor Certification Workshop (ICW)/Update
This is a combined training/assessment; the first four days of the course candidates will focus on session planning, teaching/instructing processes, risk assessment/mitigation, decision making, personal development, rescue, leadership, session management and meeting the needs of different learners in both the Level 3 and Level 4 venue. The final two days students will be assessed delivering sessions in both the Level 3 and Level 4 venue to skills appropriate practice students.
As a combined training and assessment it is required that candidates possess an appropriate level skills course, assessment course or provide evidence of equivalent skills. Candidates must also possess current first aid and CPR credentials as per ACA Policy to become a certified instructor.
