American Canoe Association Level 1/2 Introduction to Kayaking/Essentials of River Kayaking Instructor Certification Workshop
This is a combined training and assessment which focuses on preparing aspirant instructors to plan and deliver, beginner and novice sessions in river kayaking venues. The course focuses on session planning, managing sessions, decision making, preparing for instruction, teaching/instructing processes, learning through gaming, personal skills development, rescue, and risk mitigation. Throughout the course students will prepare and deliver specific sessions up to 20 minutes in length, and leave with the resources to plan and delver 3-5 hours of scaffolded sessions.
To become certified as an ACA instructor you possess current First Aid and CPR as per ACA Policy.
