Thanks for signing on recently to protect the Boundary Waters from mining! We have a quick update.
Interior just extended the comment period until January 30. In the comment you signed on to, we had asked Interior not to renew two mineral leases adjacent to the Boundary Waters and to extend the comment period for greater public participation.
We're pleased at the extension, even though we think it should be longer. You've already signed on but if you're eager to do more, here are a few opportunities:
1. Ask a friend, family member, or someone else who cares about the Boundary Waters to take just one minute to sign on to the petition to Interior (we'll deliver the signatures once again on January 30).
2. Follow along with updates on our Instagram or Facebook or Twitter where we'll try to keep the breaking news coming.
3. Submit a unique comment to Interior, if you're up for it. The form is a bit complicated but unique comments also matter a great deal if you want to write a few sentences.
