John and Jim recovered the boat on Sunday the 31st. The throw rope was found tangled in a big strainer yesterday (Sunday, April 7) and was extracted and returned to John later in the day. The location where the boat and rope were found is about 1.9 miles downstream of where they were lost (on river-right, just above the South Street bridge). The flow at that time was pushing 3,000 cfs (crest of 2,890 cfs on the USGS gauge).
It's possible that the paddle is buried in the same strainer, or that it headed downstream, where there are more strainers, including one that was river-wide at yesterday's flow. All this is upstream of the Route 116 bridge (Carlstrom Road intersection and Sycamore Park).
