Comments: Looking for paddlers from the other side of Vermont! Anyone interested in some open water paddling on Memphramagog when the ice is out? 35 miles of great coastline takes you north across the border into Canada's Magog village. Also interested in Willoughby and Crystal Lake day trips. Canoes or kayaks -- no matter. Can also offer kayak demos in Northeast Kingdom -- Dagger, Prijon, Walden -- WW or touring. Contact me via e-mail or at Clearwater Sports in Waitsfield -- 496-2708 -- full rental, retail, and instructional services in Central VT.

Comments: We are looking for a paddler for the Sugarbush Triathlon (which is actually a quadathlon) - 5 mile run (by me), 6 mile paddle on the Mad River, 8 mile bike and a cross country ski. We have a mixed team, so male or female is fine. We have a pretty good team this year but really just want to have fun. It is a great event...well run, good people, good food, music and a barrel of laughs. The event is on Sunday April 6 in Sugarbush. Please send me an e-mail directly if you are interested or would like more info.

Comments: Hi,I was wondering if anyone knows of a kayaking/canoeing/rowing club near Troy or Albany, New York. I expect that there might be a few with homewaters on the Hudson River, but apparently none of them have web sites!I'm interested in getting started with some easy canoe trips, but lack experience - thus the search for a club nearby. I'd appreciate any assistance, including club contact information, useful web sites, and good books for the canoe beginner. TIA!

Comments: The ice is melted, and our neoprene does not smell anymore (almost). That must mean it is time to paddle!! We are about to join the club, but notice that there are no trips in the near future. We recently moved to the area, so we're not familiar with local rivers. To become more familiar with the rivers here we would like to paddle with people that know them. Anyone who is interested in sharing their paddling knowledge, please e-mail us or call 865-3172!!!! PS: anyone run the La Platte?

Announcing: Florida Waterways Invitation
From: Bill Logan (407) 636-4949 FAX (407) 635-8615
Inquire@: billlog@nexusprime.org
The Scoop:
I would like to make you and your club aware of a very interesting possibility -- when the weather gets too darn cold for ya. You might want to consider making a trip down our Suwannee River. It starts at the Okefenokee Swamp of South Georgia and goes 230 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. Of course one can put in and take out for much shorter trips. When you guys get snow and ice up to your ____ think about us and our much warmer weather. The Suwannee is not only extremely beautiful, but a superb canoeing river. The current is about 2-3 MPH and there are plenty of camping places along the way ... on most of the river. I am the leader of a local group composed of all retirees .. and we are attempting to go down all of the major rivers in Florida. We did the Suwannee last April. We are doing the Peace River in December. If I can be of any assistance to you, just let me know. Best of luck to you. Bill Logan
