We will be visiting New England from May 21-May 31 and are looking for folks to paddle with during this time. We'd like to do the Androscoggin sometime between May 22 and May 25 and to do the White, Mad, and/or others over Memorial Day weekend. Is anyone planning any trips that we could join?

I have just sent in my membership fees and am interested in finding our more about the club (I probably should have done this before I sent in the check, but now you can be honest). Can anyone give me any insight on highlights and what to expect? Is the club active? Are there any other activities outside of trips? Are there many club members in the Adirondack area? And lastly, is anyone interested in doing any kayaking with someone who is just now getting back into kayaking after about 15 years away? You can contact me via my Email address. thanks.

It's not your typical May day. The Winooski crested at 21,900 cfs around mid-day, and is holding steady at 21,700. The Lamoille has started rising again; at 5:30 it was running at 14,000 cfs (stage = 10.06 ft) and seems to be headed higher. A lot of rivers should be running this weekend.

2 Dog RiverThe epic whitewater novel by Richard Day that presents outdoor adventure and men's issues in the wet and wild world of rafting and kayaking.

Two Dog River is more than a book, it's a journey which speaks to the heart and soul of men. So strap in and take the ride! Destined to be a cult classic, Two Dog River captures the essence of the whole outdoor whitewater set, while giving rare insight into the heart and soul of rivermen.

Hello,

The VPC trip on Tuesday at the lower Mad was a good time. The water was low enough for us beginners+ and high enough for the experianced people. Anyone interested in doing this again on Sunday 5/28 at 10:am? Drop me an email.

The May 23 Mad River trip went off without a hitch. The water level at the Randy Allen gauge was just under 4'. We had 7 kayakers and 1 open boat. Three of the kayakers were beginners. Of the 8 boaters,4 of them were 13 yeas old. I would like to thank Andy,Scott and Tor for putting up with the high energy level of the kids. I would also like to thank the kids for hassle free trip! We had no swims untill it was play time at the bottom ripids.

Hey,

Another great trip on the Mad on Sunday. The water was running at about 300-400 CFS and we had 9 'yaks including Bob's 'clan', Chris, Jesse and Kevin (all the way from NC). Those of us who are members of the surf-and-swim club enjoyed the ender and cartwheel show. Big fun all around. Most of us managed to run the left most fall at the horseshoe (with some notable exceptions). Chris and Jesse even managed to do the run again! Thanks to all for making the trip. Keep hoping for rain.

keep the wet side down,
Scott

Hi, my staff and I are looking to take some teenage boys (4 boys age 16)who are part of a residential program on their summer outing.
I suggested canoeing. I was wondering if anybody had some good weekend trips. We would like to spend a night or two camping along the river. I am looking for class 1 or 2, maybe a 3 if its not to difficult. We are looking at the weekend of June 25th. Open to any suggestions on any river in Vermont. This is a team building and life skills trips and hopefully there is a river out there to challenge these boys. Thank you
