West River Access Issues

The swirling controversy over curtailment of 2 day recreational releases from Ball Mountain Dam on the West River in Jamaica Vermont continues. At stake: Vermont's best attended and most celebrated annual paddling event.

The links below are provided to help you appreciate the role of American Whitewater, the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, New England FLOW, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Those who feel strongly about perpetuating the decades-old tradition of the spring and fall West River Weekends should send email (or better yet paper) letters to the offices and officials involved.
